Sori Sports Volleyball Academy (SSVA) was founded by Sori Perez (Director; Head Girl’s Coach of St. Hubert’s High School & Co-Founder of Sori Sports) and Mike Ragucci (Co-Founder; Asst. Girl’s Coach of St. Hubert’s High School). Our goal is to teach and enhance each player’s fundamental skills in a very competitive team setting for an affordable price, making volleyball accessible to all Philly youth. SSVA is composed of two amazing teams: SSVA and SSVA Xpress.
SSVA comprises approximately nine teams (94 girls). SSVA teams travel regularly for tournaments competing against reputable teams. While being an active member of SSVA, players get first hand experience creating unforgettable bonds that will last a lifetime. SSVA provides Philadelphia youth with a life changing and rewarding volleyball experience.

Sori Perez
Coach, Co-Founder
As the co-founder and one of the beloved coaches of SSVA, Sori has lived her passion for volleyball for over 30 years. Through her commitment to sharing this love with players of all ages and genders, she strives to instill in them the growth and opportunities that she received from the sport. Anyone can attest to her passion for volleyball as she devotes her time, efforts, and money to her team. Ultimately, she hopes that her team will find the confidence and connections that will lead to their current and future successes.
Mike Ragucci
Coach, Co-Founder
Mike Ragucci lives a life of service. He is an active and honorable member of the Philadelphia police force, having served for over 20 years to date. He has dedicated over 17 years to Philadelphia Police Athletic League (PAL) centers for youth, where he started to incorporate volleyball into young girls’ lives. His ultimate goal remains consistent --- he strives to provide players a safe place to go when they don’t have any other option. As the co-founder and coach of SSVA, Mike endeavors to see the best in everyone and encourages players to put their best foot forward in athletics and in life. Anyone who knows him will testify to Mike’s pure love for coaching and being a leader of SSVA as he prioritizes every player’s safety, comfort, and of course, passion for volleyball.
